Gautam Koul is a passionate dancer and performer who moved to Australia from India at the age of 3. He has a deep connection with his country of birth and returns there often, while also actively expanding the range of experiences he has with people all over the world, firmly believing that the most significant bond of all is the human bond.
Photographer’s statement:
India: a country that gives my life a new world of knowledge. India to me is the kind of country that can never be fully understood. Every time I go back, I realise how little I know about the place. It leaves me wanting to go back and understand more about the people, food, traditions, languages, religions etc. I have done my share of travelling, but there is no place like India. I share a bond with it not only because of my background, but also because of the love it has given me.
