ON A DAY LIKE THIS

I edited myself out of this page.
This is a day not of my own.
Overpriced egg coffee tasted like
Nothing but sugary water.

A rejection letter arrived —
But that was yesterday.
Is the museum the right place
To know about, learn from
Immigration stories?

Chunky clouds float, spread out
Here and there but never once
Stop the sun from shining on
Our skins where you turn red
And I fade.
